Title: Bete Noire (Dark Beast)
Author:
rontgenkatze
Synopsis: She didn't remember opening the window
Word Count: 166
Warnings: None
Rating: G
Author’s Notes: First time poster. All comments/criticisms welcome.
She woke with a start, unsure what had roused her. Clearing her mind of partially remembered dreams, her bladder insisted on relief. Climbing from the bed and shuffling to the bathroom, she did not turn on the light, figuring it would make it that much easier to go back to sleep after tending to the business at hand.
Shivering at the touch of cold porcelain on bed warmed bare skin, she urinated quickly, flushed and rinsed her hands. As she returned to the bedroom, she felt a chill.
Funny, she did not remember opening the window.
Walking a little faster, she hurried to close and lock the window. As an afterthought, she pulled the drapes as well.
She stretched an arm out in front of her while fumbling back to bed, intent on doing herself no bodily harm.
She sat on the side of the bed, shrugging out of her robe just as a cold hand shot out from beneath the bed to grab her ankle.
